East Asian Buddhism


East Asian Buddhism is a collective term for the schools of Buddhism that developed in the East Asian region, most of which are part of the Mahayana (which means "The Greater Vehicle") transmission. These include Chinese Buddhism, Korean Buddhism, Japanese Buddhism, and Vietnamese Buddhism. Over time, the true home of Buddhism, India, the majority of Indians believe in Hinduism. The majority of Chinese people believe in the Confu-buddhism, and the majority of Japanese people believe in Shintoism. According to information and claims by India, Korea is the country that preserves the original, or at least the closest to the original Buddhism.
