Land of Goshen


The Land of Goshen (Hebrew: גֹּשֶׁן, Tiberian: , Israeli: Goshen; from Egyptian: ) is the region around the city with the modern name Faqus in the eastern Nile delta in Egypt. The Tanakh refers to it in the biblical story of Joseph. The Septuagint renders the name as Gesan (Greek: γεσαν, , ), and Artapanus as Kessan (), like the Egyptian ().
